La Mesa Eco Park!

Once upon a time, in a super hot and humid day in March, my friends and I decided to visit La Mesa Eco Park to celebrate Joana's birthday! Don't ask me how to get there because I don't know either.

What's weird is, there are lots of trees everywhere but it was super super hot! OA talaga! You won't even want to make the slightest movement because it makes you sweat readily! A friend told me that the water dam could be reflecting the heat to the park..hmm..maybe he's right!

We paid P50 at the entrance (kids below 3ft are free). We were welcomed by these weird looking, metal-like beings who scared me a bit!

The good news is, since it's Joana's birthday, libre ang food and drinks! Yummy!

But the sad part is.. meron sila partners, ako wala, huhuhu... charot!! Kelan ko kaya makikilala prince charming ko, lol!

There are many activities that you can enjoy in Eco Park like swimming (sayang.. wala kami dalang extra clothes), horseback riding and biking. Meron din wall climbing at paintball.

Although the weather's too hot, nothing beats the warmth of our friendship! Ansabe?!

Anyhow inihaw, when we left Eco Park, umulan ng bongga! Talk about crazy weather!!

My fun-filled restday!

Last Thursday, I met with a long lost friend. We haven't seen each other for almost 6 years despite the fact that we were very close during college days!

Quick Story of how I came across him again: I was chatting with a friend in FB and we were reminiscing college life, when I remember how close I was to this guy whom I cannot remember the name. Well, I remembered the things that we did together then, and even his birthdate, but not his name, lol! That's how bad I am with names (and faces!), haha! My friend and I did some brainstorming and finally figured it out! So I immediately searched him thru FB and added him as a friend! We chatted and decided to meet up!

Meeting place was in Rob Galleria! While waiting, there was this weirdo who approached me and sat across me at McDo, and I was really surprised (and scared!). I guess he's selling something, but I asked him to leave and told him that I was waiting for someone. And he annoyed me more when he said "matagal pa siguro yun hinihintay mo". I insisted that he leave but before leaving, he said "ganda mo kasi", pabalikin ko sana e, charot!

So then Aldwin (that's his name) arrived, and we rode MRT to get to Trinoma! It was only 3:30pm and MRT is already jam-packed! Ka-haggard lang! We had snacks at Fuzion and went to SM to watch a movie! We watched Avengers, and really loved it! It was a two and a half hour movie and there was not a dull moment! I love Ironman's humor and Hulk's temper, haha! After the movie, we went back to Trinoma for quick dinner at Burger King!

Then, my bff Zaicy and his bff Emer, met me at Trinoma! Zaicy invited me to stay with them at Great Eastern Hotel (dahil makapal ang mukha ko, sama naman ako, lol!). The hotel was quite old but it's clean (aarte pa ba ko e libre lang naman, haha!) 

It's so fun to be with these two!  They've been friends (matagal ko ng wish na sana maging lovers!) for a long time and they do nothing but make fun of one another! Emer's friendly too, just like Zaicy, so I was very  at ease! 

And because I'm with Zaicy, you'd have nothing to expect but lots and lots of pictures! We made the hotel's pool and gym our own studio! Dahil gwapo at matangkad yang friend ko, pasok na pasok siyang maging model!

I super enjoyed the movie date and the hotel experience! Thanks sa mga sponsors ko, lol! The restdays are over though, and I need to get back to work tonight!

My dog... Pochi!

My little doggie, one and a half year old mini pinscher! Her name's Pochi, based on my niece's favorite gummy candy! A friend gave her to me when she was about 4 months old.

She's a very energetic dog! It would really be hard to catch her when she starts running around. And she is quite fast! It would make you laugh to see her run because she does it in a tiptoe kind of way, her nails scratching the floor, and it's as if she is hopping!

Her ears are always like that! :)

When she was about 6 months old, she sprained her left front leg!  She cried painfully and hurriedly went to my mom, asking her to hug her! I almost cried when I saw how hurt she was. :(

Every morning, when I come home from work (and even before I reach our door), she would start barking (as if she knows that it's me) and when I call her name she would stop! And when I go near her, she would hide shyly and cover her face with her legs, and that always makes me laugh.  Then, I would tap her door and she will start waggling her tail, and after a few minutes, she'll start jumping like crazy!

I guess Pochi also has memory problems like me. There was this instance that I left for vacation and was gone for about 4 days, and when I came back, she was barking at me like a stranger. I had to call her several times before she recognized me, then she looked at me as if saying sorry.

She loves my mom a lot! Like a little kid, whenever she sees that mama's going out, she'd cry like she wants to come with her. And then I'll shout "Ma, yung anak mo!" and mama will just laugh!

Palmera Dimsum House!

Me and my best friends Arnica, Joana, and Lori decided to meet up for a late breakfast. Lori suggested we eat in Palmera Dimsum House because she's been there several times and she said that the food is great!

It was my first time to dine here though, and I was not disappointed! :)

Here are what we had: Chicken Garlic, Beef Broccoli, Pancit Canton Con Lechon, and Yang Chow Rice!

The food is really affordable so it's all worth it! Short order for the chicken (serving: 8 pcs) and the beef is only P150 and the generous serving of pancit is only P70! And the Yang Chow Rice which is good for 2 persons is P60 (I forgot to take a picture, too excited to eat!).

What I love most is the Garlic Chicken! It was very crispy and also has a separate dip (somehow sweet) which I think is made from oyster sauce. Everything's delicious though!

They also have dumplings and spring rolls (my favorites!). And there are still a variety of dishes made of pork and seafood and veggies. So definitely, I'll be back to try those! :)

The Sweet Tooth!

I love cakes and I love coffee too so when I saw the ad about the unli cakes and coffee at Secret Recipe, how can I say no?! ;)

I went to Shangri-La Mall with bffs Sasa and Zaicy. It's weird but I'm kind of nervous when we got there, haha! Or maybe, I'm just excited!

I ordered their brewed coffee versus the jasmine tea! The coffee's good! I tried the tea once and hated it, I just can't get myself to like something that tastes like sampaguita extract, eeww!

I got to eat 5 slices of cake out of the seven choices. Not bad! I have to admit though that those I cannot finish, I gave to Zaicy! :p

This one's my most favorite. I like that the chiffon is soft and moist (you know it's not stale just because it's on sale, haha!). And I like the icing too, the mild taste of coffee and light sweetness of cream.. yummy!

I wasn't able to try this. I'm not a fan of strawberries so I didn't put it in my priority list, only to find out later that it's no longer available. :(  But I bet this one's good too, Sasa and Zaicy liked it!

Black Forest Cakes are not my favorite! I don't like the weird combination of cherries and wine. Yet, I still ordered this and after a mouthful, gave the rest to Zaicy! (Good thing, it's his favorite!)

Mocha Walnut Cake

I think this one's the least favorite of everyone! I personally did not order it but I got a piece from Zaicy's slice. I can't describe it, really weird, nutty and salty at the same time? Aren't cakes supposed to be sweet??

I like this one too. Just like those cakes you can order from red ribbon. Nothing special but I guess I really love chocolate and mocha!

And surely enough, I loved this one too! Thick and smooth chocolate on top of moist chiffon plus caramel in the middle! If I wasn't that full, I'd order one more!

Overall, it was a pleasant experience! Secret Recipe has a nice and clean and cool place, the staff were friendly enough and the cakes are delicious! It seems that they are serving half of the cake's usual slice, which I think is ideal so you get to have more space in your tummy and more flavors to indulge with! :)

A friend actually wants to try this again but I guess the promo's no longer available. Maybe we can try the unli cakes and coffee of The Coffee Beanery? :)

The Lucky Day!

It was Friday the 13th! It's shopping day! I went to Megamall to meet up with bestfriend Zaizai! Lori and her baby Sophie came with us too! Lori filed for BTO (BonusTimeOut) para lang makasama sa shopping spree! :)

We were supposed to buy shoes and pants at Forever21 pero hindi meant to be (walang sizes na kasya!). We were destined for something better! :p 

We strolled for 3 hours! Zaicy got 5 pairs of shoes! I fought myself hard not to buy a new pair of shoes but I lost the battle! haha! 

I also got a pair of jeans, shades, and the super deliciously scented body wash from Etude House. Lori got Sophie her swimsuit too!

We then ate in KFC while waiting for Stacy. Seemed like Stacy and Zaicy have known each other for years kahit first time nila magkita personally!

After eating, we went hunting ulet for good buys until we felt like we can't walk anymore and decided to go home! 

At siyempre, ang winner sa dami ng pinamili at sumira ng record ko ng pinakamaraming shoes bought in 1 day... Zaicy!!! :p
